Mai El Kady has taken a short getaway to Kenya after wrapping filming on her latest movie, Taha El Ghareeb. The break comes as a chance to recharge before returning to a busy schedule, with several new projects already in the pipeline.

Mai recently completed all of her scenes in the film, which offers a fresh cinematic approach through its unique story and treatment. The film stars Hassan El Raddad alongside Gamila Awad and Ratal Abdelaziz. It is written by Mohamed Sadek, directed by Othman Abu Laban, and produced by Ahmed El Sobky.

Speaking about the project, Mai shared her excitement for the film’s release, describing it as one of the most distinctive experiences of her career.

“I’m incredibly happy to be part of Taha El Ghareeb. It’s unlike anything I’ve done before, both in terms of the character and the overall atmosphere of the film. Working with director Othman Abu Laban, Hassan El Raddad, writer Mohamed Sadek, producer Ahmed El Sobky, and the entire team was a wonderful experience. I truly hope audiences enjoy the film because I believe it will offer something different, and they’ll get to see me in a completely new light.”

Taha El Ghareeb is a romantic fantasy that blends reality with imagination, telling an unconventional love story that explores whether emotions can transcend time. The film is expected to hit cinemas soon, with the official release date to be announced by the production company.

Following her vacation, Mai will return to work as she prepares for several upcoming projects, with more details set to be revealed in the near future.

Most recently, Mai received widespread praise for her performance in the series Etnein Ahwa, which generated significant buzz across social media and topped online search trends during its run. The series co-starred Ahmed Fahmy and Syrian actress Maram Ali in her first Egyptian television drama, and was written by Amr Mahmoud Yassin and directed by Essam Nassar.
