Manal Benkhamallah

Manal Benkhamallah is an Algerian actress, screenwriter, and producer whose career is unfolding across Algeria, France, and Egypt. Holding a Master’s degree in Francophone Literature and Arts from the University of Annaba and formally trained in dramatic arts, she brings together performance, storytelling, and creative production to build a distinctive presence across the region’s evolving film and television landscape.

Her journey on screen began with the lead role in the short film Marbot, produced through the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts and Audiovisual Professions (ISMAS) in Algiers. The project marked an early step in a career shaped not only by acting, but by a growing ambition to create, write, and develop stories of her own.

Since then, Manal has built a diverse screen portfolio spanning Algerian, French, and Egyptian productions. She portrayed Meriem in the Algerian series Erawi and Sandy in the Egyptian series Nos El Shaab Esmo Mohamed, broadcast on MBC and Shahid. In France, she joined the cast of the series Miskina, la pauvre, available on Amazon Prime Video, portraying Zouzou.

Beyond acting, Manal is expanding her creative role as a screenwriter and producer, driven by a clear ambition: to develop original stories and take them from concept to screen. She is the initiator and project lead of the feature film Rim El Rimet, in which she also stars as the lead character, Rima. The film is currently in production, with approximately 60% of principal photography completed.

Her artistic journey also extends into socially driven work. Manelle participated in an Octobre Rose breast cancer awareness campaign in Algeria, using her public presence to encourage women to prioritize regular screening and highlight the importance of early detection.

Working across three major creative territories, Manal Benkhamallah is carving out an identity that is inherently cross-cultural. Her experience in Algeria, France, and Egypt gives her a rare perspective shaped by different languages, audiences, and production environments, while her work across acting, writing, and producing reflects a broader ambition to become not only part of the stories being told, but part of the force shaping them.
